Patricia is a British Lebanese Canadian artist born in 1969 in Beirut and raised in Montreal. She holds a doctorate in clinical psychology, specializing in the psychoanalytical interpretation of dreams.
Her collages use layering of mixed media with written and drawn symbols. Her earlier works blend street art, pop culture, and logos juxtaposed with graffiti overlay.
Her art transitioned from a perspective of privileged optimism during Lebanon’s pre-revolutionary era, creating aesthetically pleasing and calming compositions, to exploring a more nuanced understanding that delves into psychoanalytical metamorphosis, where by day, our consciousness reveals vibrant, vivid imagery, while at night our unconscious unveils the tumultuous, distorted chaos concealed within. She invites viewers to contemplate the impact of both realms of our consciousness.
